PORTAL UNIT

A space for individual and collective encounter, that is at the same time a refuge.

A Portal Unit is a container, or structured period of time/space in which to prioritise and interrogate the experience and needs of the body in relation to sound.

“ An intention is set each time the portal, a container is created:

May all forms of knowledge be valuable here.

The ancestral, embodied and emotional are prioritised.

This is an offering, an invitation

- Take what resonates and leave the rest.

The opening and closing of the container, a portal, is crucial. This could be done firstly through the use of a rattle, shaken a number of times. You are invited to take three deep mindful breaths before we begin. If it resonates to do so, you could take three deep mindful breaths now.

As a result of clearing space with sound, a portal opens up to us.”
